    Ferralium 255 Sheet (UNS S32550)

    Cold-rolled sheet 0.5 to 6 mm to ASTM A240 / EN 10088-2, 2B / 2D / BA finish for forming, gasket, and lining service

Sheet (≤ 6 mm) and plate (> 6 mm) split the flat-rolled product range at the rolling-mill boundary: sheet is cold-rolled with a controlled surface finish, plate is hot-rolled with a descaled mill surface. Ferralium 255 (UNS S32550, EN 1.4507) sheet is the right pick for formed components, vessel linings, gasket and shim stock, and any application requiring a 2B, 2D, or BA mirror finish. The cold-rolled super duplex sheet retains the wrought ferrite-austenite microstructure of the heavier plate but with tighter dimensional tolerance and a defined surface finish. Per-heat EN 10204 type 3.2 MTC, ferrite content within 35 to 55%. RFQ: info@torqbolt.com / WhatsApp +91-22-66157017.

    Formability and Bend Limits

Super duplex sheet is harder to form than austenitic 304 / 316 because the higher yield strength means greater spring-back and the duplex microstructure has limited ductility above 5 percent strain before re-solution annealing is required. Practical bend limits for Ferralium 255 sheet at room temperature: minimum bend radius 2 × thickness for transverse-direction bends, 3 × thickness for longitudinal-direction bends. Forming above 5 percent strain (deep draws, severe bends, beading) requires intermediate annealing at 1080 °C with water quench to restore ferrite balance. For thin-gauge formed components specify the 2B finish; for chemical vessel linings and decorative service specify BA.
